As part of the founding leadership team at Bedrock Detroit, I worked directly with partners Dan Gilbert and Jim Ketai to launch and scale the company to more than 600 employees, overseeing operations across 18 million square feet of commercial, residential, and mixed-use properties in Detroit and Cleveland.

As Chief Operating Officer, I helped establish a culture of operational and organizational excellence, building the systems, processes, and leadership structures that fueled rapid growth while keeping people at the center.

A Career Built on Building Companies

Over my 30+ year career, I’ve served in executive roles spanning Operations, Human Resources, and Strategic Leadership, including Vice President, Executive Vice President, and COO. I’ve had the privilege of launching and growing several organizations, each one teaching me the power of structure, clarity, and aligned leadership.

As companies expanded, I realized my passion remained with the early-stage and growth-phase environments.  The entrepreneurial settings where teams are small, decisions are fast, and every system built makes an immediate and lasting impact. That clarity became the foundation for Tamara Knapp Advisory.

Why I Founded Tamara Knapp Advisory

After decades of scaling organizations, I saw a gap in the market. Many growing companies need senior-level insight and discipline but are not yet positioned to hire a full-time executive.

Through Tamara Knapp Advisory, I offer the strategic capability of a seasoned executive without the overhead. My work focuses on:
